TASTING NOTES:

Is it old? Is it new? Could it be? A dream come true. A gorgeous mystery, a little daring. By bottle three, you won't be caring! The time has come to complicate. The wine and the mind share this fate. Something new. Definitely new. Remember I made it just for you.

THE STORY:

Oh buddy did I already say, smooth, deep, layers of ripe caramelized fruit from probably the best Washington vintage ever, from ten great vineyards, in six appellations. The dirt on the fruit:

80% Cabernet Sauvignon
6% Merlot
4% Cab Franc
3% Malbec
3% Petite Verdot
2% Syrah
2% Sangiovese

Ten vineyards and seven grape varietals combine with several forests of oak to deliver this complex, old-world style wine. I set out to make something interesting with subtle layers of intriguing flavors. The cab was gorgeous, the merlot full and smooth, the cab franc aromatic, the malbec grainy, the petite verdot tannic and dark, the sangio spicy, the syrah earthy and good old stinky. We stored the wines separately in the cellars for 26 months in French, Hungarian, Russian, Minnesota, and Appalachian oaks. Some of the Minnesota barrels were toasted using chunks of sweet, smoky hickory from Louisiana. The barrels were blended in big French oak tanks for several months of flavor assimilation.

This wine is young and should develop into a complicated beauty.
